Meet the Fellars

Matthew Schultz

Matthew Schultz

Photographer, Videographer

I started out down this path as a kid with a camera. In those days it was simply a way to entertain ourselves to pass the time. I started out mostly in front of the camera but quickly became more interested in creating the story and getting the right shots. I still spend a lot of time in front of a camera, but my real passion is telling the story from behind the camera. The challenge is what excites me the most about visual storytelling.

I have a wide array of interests. While “Jack of all trades, Master of none” quote describes me,  I find it has positive connotations while operating a production company. Producing a video has many steps. (Planning, writing, filming, post-production, sound, graphics, promoting)  all of which I get enjoyment from, but I mostly see myself as the bookends to any project. I really thrive in getting started with ideas and writing, and finishing up with final edits. I have a propensity for knowledge and curiosity and I find that I am most in my element while creating new things, even if it does not seem to have a direct impact on others at the time. I have made many films, and many songs in which nobody watches or listens. However,  I am content with the influence that these projects have on myself and my personal growth. I get peace in knowing that if I can better myself through new challenges and learning new things it will put me in a better position to help others in the future. While I wouldn’t say I’m a master of any discipline, I am constantly improving my skills.

I have a talent for logistical planning, which I have honed in over a decade of entrepreneurship.  I also have some basic experience in Marketing, having worked for Indiana University South Bend’s Marketing department where I helped create videos for their website and Youtube channel. I look forward to the challenges that await me.

Disciplines: Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects
